My Favourite Cocktail Bars in Hertfordshire

Delving into my cherished cocktail havens in Hertfordshire, I’m excited to share a few spots that stand out for their unique mixes, ambiances, and unforgettable experiences. Each of these bars brings something special to the table, from expertly crafted drinks to cosy, inviting atmospheres.

Puddingstone Distillery, Tring

While it may not be a traditional cocktail bar, Puddingstone Distillery is a must-mention for its unique offerings. They host distillery tours on Thursday evenings from 8-10pm, providing a perfect blend of education and enjoyment. The two-hour session not only treats you to two gin cocktails from their Campfire Gin menu but also offers samples of their distinct gins. Plus, you’ll leave with a branded Puddingstone Distillery gin glass as a memento of the experience.

Savouring brunch, I discovered that the Peach cocktail is among the most revitalising beverages I’ve enjoyed, especially since it’s crafted from watermelon, my absolute favourite fruit. The brunch itself was equally delightful. I wholeheartedly endorse giving it a try!

The Hermitage Bar in Hitchin

The Hermitage, housed in a grand former ballroom, is an exceptional spot for enjoying cocktails at the bar. Their unique take on the Pornstar Martini, named ‘Aries’, is especially notable for its creative infusion of hibiscus and vanilla, adding a distinctive twist to the classic cocktail.

Pircio Restaurant, Bishops Stortford

Indulge in an array of Mediterranean meze plates at Pircio, an elegantly decorated, contemporary restaurant, whilst sipping on a refreshing Long Island Iced Tea. Each dish bursts with authentic flavours, thanks to carefully selected ingredients sourced directly from the diverse regions of Italy and Turkey, offering a genuine taste of their local cuisine.

Vinsanto / Speakeasy Bar in Harpenden

Tucked away beneath the wonderful Vinsanto restaurant, a neon sign marks the entrance to an intimate Speakeasy Bar and Cellar, a hidden gem where the night can effortlessly transition from dinner to drinks. This underground haven boasts a chic design with dark wood, exposed brick, and mood-setting theatrical lighting, providing the perfect backdrop for sipping meticulously crafted cocktails at the spacious bar or snuggling up at one of the cosy tables.

If you’re single in Hertfordshire and tired of the endless cycle of swiping on dating apps, you’re not alone. More and more people are looking for real-life ways to meet new people, without the pressure or awkwardness of traditional speed dating.

That’s exactly why Be Dating Beautiful was created.

Founded by Eleni, Be Dating Beautiful hosts singles events across Hertfordshire, including Hitchin, Hertford and St Albans, designed to help people meet naturally while doing something fun.

Instead of sitting opposite strangers for timed conversations like at a typical speed dating event, these evenings are built around shared experiences, from comedy nights and games evenings to DJ nights and even a summer singles festival.

The idea is simple: when people are relaxed and enjoying themselves, conversations flow more naturally and connections happen organically.

With over 1.4 million people leaving dating apps in the UK last year, real-life singles events are becoming increasingly popular and many Be Dating Beautiful events sell out. So if speed dating feels a bit intense and dating apps feel exhausting, these events offer a refreshing alternative.

You can explore upcoming singles events in Hertfordshire here: https://bedatingbeautiful.com/find-your-tribe/

Whether you’re looking to meet someone special, expand your social circle, or simply enjoy a fun night out with like-minded people, Be Dating Beautiful events are designed to get you off the sofa and back into real life. Because life is for living.
