At Vinoteca, wine enthusiasts will find a haven, with a selection that promises to impress in an intimate setting. Look out for their delightful wine tasting evenings and array of experiences. If you’re looking for a peaceful evening of cheese, wine and great conversation, this is your place to go!

The Victoria
The Victoria (Vic) pub is a cornerstone of Hitchin’s social scene, celebrated not only for its legendary burgers and pizzas but also for its eclectic mix of live music, acoustic nights, and engaging quiz evenings.

Kite at The Red Hart
With its eclectic decor, beautiful outdoor space and diverse drink menu, Kite at the Red Hart is a spot that never fails to impress. If you’re travelling to Hitchin for a celebration, they have a great private entertaining space upstairs.

Beer Shop Hitchin
If you’re a craft beer enthusiast, this one is for you. With an array of carefully curated brews showcased in a chic, rustic setting, the Beer Shop is more than just a shop – it’s an experience.

Classic Pubs in Hitchin

The Rose & Crown
On the main square, the Rose & Crown is a small pub, popular with the locals. Look out for their fun karaoke evenings.

The Half Moon
Located in the heart of the town, The Half Moon offers a traditional pub feel, perfectly blending history with modern comfort. With their diverse range of ales and an inviting beer garden.

The George
The George is a pub rich in history with its classic wood-panelled exterior. Located just off the main square, evenings can get lively with a DJ throwing out a mixture of old and new.

The Angel Vaults Inn Hitchin
I’m not usually a fan of Weatherspoon’s pubs, but this brand, located just off the Square, on Sun Street, is a much nicer setting, with floral displays, tall beam ceilings and an outdoor courtyard.

Coopers Arms
A cosy pub, the Coopers Arms is popular with the locals, just a 5 minute walk from the main square, through the pretty Hitchin streets.

The Radcliffe Arms
A 10 minute walk from the centre, The Radcliffe Arms serves up homemade, delicious brick oven pizzas.

The Speakeasy
Evoking the aura of the roaring ’20s, if you’re visiting Hitchin on a Friday or Saturday night and you like Jazz music, the Speakeasy is an experience you can’t miss. Sip on a cocktail whilst enjoying their wonderful singers, who dazzle in a stunning gown. Note: The live entertainment stops around 9:30 for their DJ.

Pitch and Piano
Pitch and Piano in Hitchin has a chic setting with ivy hanging from the ceilings and nice furnishing. They offer bottomless brunch, an extensive cocktail menu and often have a DJ on a Saturday night. Located in the main square, you can have drinks outside and often watch entertainment from there on the weekends.

The Snug
Look out for the Snug’s entertainment. They often have open mic, local performers or the odd drag night. A great place for happy hour cocktails!

Cinnarbar
Cinnabar perfectly balances the charm of a sophisticated cocktail lounge with the energy of a vibrant nightclub.
