Description
Speed dating… but not as you know it.
No awkward 5-minute timers. No forced small talk across a sticky table. Just real-life connection, a bit of competition!
After three consecutive events with 40+ attendees, it’s clear that meeting in real life is back.
The Details
Join us at Mulligans Stevenage for a relaxed, social twist on speed dating, designed to help you meet naturally while actually doing something fun.
📅 Wednesday 20th May
📍 Mulligans Stevenage: Unit 3a, Kings Way, Stevenage Leisure Park, SG1 2UA
(Free parking available and it’s right next to Stevenage train station).
How it works:
- Arrive at your start time. The first 30 minutes: Grab a drink and mingle with your fellow players
- You’ll be split into groups of 6, within your age bracket (3 men, 3 women)
- You’ll take on an 18-hole crazy golf course (Jurassic or Ocean themed)
- We’ll mix up the teams after the 9th hole.
- Once you’ve completed the course (around 45 minutes) we’ll regroup for drinks and let’s be honest, the competitiveness will still be strong
To keep a balanced event:
- Tickets are released in groups of 6 (3 men / 3 women)
- If one group sells out, we open the next. This means that early booking is key!

Another fabulous event. Well organised and great fun. Much credit to Eleni for setting it up and running around all night getting in the way of my putts deliberately! 😁

Eleni you were great and did a good job organizing the event. I enjoyed the experience overall, but I would like to share some constructive feedback.
First of all, when we arrived, and sit in according to the age group it would have been helpful to have a short introduction
One thing I noticed was that in both groups, some lady friends were placed together. While it is completely understandable that friends come together, in this type of dating event it may be better to separate friends into different groups, as it can make it difficult for others to mingle and build connections. In one group, a lady mentioned that they had been friends and working together for around 20 years.
I understand that strong friendships are valuable, but at a dating event many people attend specifically to meet new people and have meaningful conversations with different participants. When friends stay in the same group, they often continue chatting mainly among themselves, which can unintentionally limit interaction with others.
My suggestion for future events would be to separate friends into different groups where possible. This would encourage everyone to engage with new people, improve communication, and help participants build more connections. Friends can always catch up after the event and share their experiences.
Overall, the meetup was okay, and I appreciate the effort put into organizing it.
Thank you.
