Tired of dating apps and awkward singles events? Come and meet people the fun way at Boom Battle Bar Stevenage, where three competitive games give you something to do, something to laugh about and to connect over.
We’re bringing together singles for an evening of axe throwing, darts and shuffleboard, with age-grouped arrivals and organised rotations before everyone comes together for a final mingle.
No sitting opposite a stranger trying to think of your next question. No forced chemistry… Just games, drinks, a little friendly competition and a room full of local singles.
What to Expect
On arrival, you’ll be welcomed by Eleni, checked in and shown to the event area.
You’ll have a 15-minute arrival window to get settled, grab a drink and meet some of the other guests before your first game begins.
Then it’s game time. You’ll rotate through three different Boom Battle Bar experiences, spending around 30 minutes at each:

🎯 Darts
🏓 Shuffleboard
Once the games are finished, we’ll bring everyone together for a final mingle at the bar, giving you the chance to continue conversations, grab another drink and catch up with anyone you didn’t get to meet during the games.
Your Arrival Time
To help us organise the groups and make the rotations run smoothly, you’ll have a specific arrival time based on your age group:
- 50s – 7:15pm
- 40s – 7:30pm
- 30s – 7:45pm
Please arrive at your allocated time so you don’t miss the start of your first game.

Give your best lumberjack impression and step onto Boom’s iconic axe lanes. You don’t need a beard or checked shirt, just a willingness to give it a go!
Important safety information: No alcohol before or during the axe throwing experience. Closed-toe shoes are essential.

🎯 HIT US WITH YOUR BEST SHOT
Darts, but with a Boom Battle Bar twist. Their interactive darts experience combines classic darts with state-of-the-art technology and a range of different game modes.
Whether you’re secretly competitive or haven’t ever picked up a dart, it’s a great way to get chatting while having a bit of fun.
🏓 EVERYDAY I’M SHUFFLIN’
Take on the shuffleboard. One puck at a time, you’ll battle it out on Boom’s Scandinavian-made boards using Canadian Sugar Maple wood.
It’s easy to pick up, surprisingly competitive and most importantly gives you something to talk about other than “so, what do you do?”
Allergy information: The shuffleboard dust currently used contains small traces of nuts.
Then It’s Time to Mingle
Once the three games are finished, we’ll bring everyone together for a final social at the bar. You’ve already broken the ice through the games, so by this point the hardest part, (walking into a room of strangers) is done.
Grab another drink, continue a conversation, introduce yourself to someone new and enjoy the rest of the evening. Because meeting people is much easier when you’re having fun.

Who Is This For?
This event is designed for singles in their 30s, 40s and 50s. Your booking will be placed into an age group to help us create the best possible mix on the night. The age groups are a guide rather than a strict rule, if you’re slightly outside your chosen bracket, don’t worry.
We’re here to create a fun, social evening and bring together like-minded singles from across Hertfordshire.

A Little Note About Ticket Releases
We release tickets in batches rather than putting the entire event capacity on sale at once. This allows us to monitor the bookings and keep the gender balance as even as possible. So if tickets show as SOLD OUT, don’t panic. It may simply mean the current batch has sold. Further tickets may be released as bookings come in. If you’d like to attend, join the waiting list and we’ll let you know when the next batch becomes available.
We recommend booking sooner rather than later. We can only hold tables and event space for a limited time, so we may not be able to accommodate last-minute bookings once availability is gone.
Don’t leave it until the last minute, once we’re full, we’re full!

Singles Games Night FAQs
Is this speed dating?
No. There are no timed one-to-one dates or forced conversations. You’ll meet different people naturally as you rotate through the three games, followed by a relaxed final mingle.
What games will we play?
You’ll play three Boom Battle Bar experiences: axe throwing, darts and shuffleboard.
Can I come on my own?
Absolutely. Many guests do, and the format makes it easy to start chatting once the games begin.
What should I wear?
Wear something comfortable that you can move around in. Most importantly, you’ll need closed-toe shoes for axe throwing.
Can I drink alcohol?
You can enjoy drinks during the evening, but no alcohol is permitted before or during the axe throwing experience for safety reasons.
